Joy of release . com Butterfly Lady image

Reflection

As I gazed into the mirror and my reflection back at me.
I wondered about my destiny and in twenty years what would I be?
Would the lady in the mirror still be striving strong?
Would she have the wisdom and strength to see both right and wrong?

This is such an unusual thought, yet, it´s important to always grow.
Set our goals and strive to achieve our purpose as we begin to know.
Realize that on our journey through the joys and sorrows in life,
Is only the very beginning throughout our eternity that´s oh, so bright.

As I pondered on my heartfelt mission and some dreams not yet complete.
My mother´s words concerning being persistent will pay off regardless of defeat.
I heard her words come forth that if she could go back twenty years . . .
She would care less about what others thought, and allow God to dry her tears.

As I prayed about this question and asked the good Lord above,
I knew within my heart no matter our age – the answer is our measure of love.
For no matter what situations or trials that we may face,
We have a loving God who pours out much blessings and grace.

Suddenly, a still, small, voice within my heart did speak.
The Holy Spirit within reminded me that He is strong when I am weak.
Each day as God gives us life the choices are ours to make.
We can choose the way of love or be consumed with hate.

Would this woman twenty years older have a more solid point of view?
Would she remind me of what really counts in life and to begin each day brand new?
Would she warn me of the evil ways that seek to devour me whole?
Would she urge me to shine brightly when the darkness tries to take hold?

My heart became full of emotion as I contemplated this thought.
No matter what age we are it´s this message that is brought.
Live your life to the fullest with hope, faith, and love.
Be as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove.
