Choosing Words

The choice today is up to us,
To bless this day or curse and fuss.
We can speak out the most edifying of words,
Or cling to words that negatively hurt.

The choice right now is ours, you see,
To be good to one another and bless others indeed,
For when good seeds are planted, a good harvest will grow,
Even in the middle of winter during a hard, driven, snow.

We can all come together and share a great meal,
From this beautiful garden we can share our appeals,
We can all come together and agree to disagree,
With respect for one another regardless of degrees.

What is this message and why write a verse,
That would encourage such behavior on this planet earth,
Our words can be stepping stones for others to follow,
Our words can bring hurt, dismay, and even sorrow.

The choice of our words that we display,
Should bring harmony to each other, not to dismay,
For good words that are spoken will bring good things,
But the negative tongue like a serpent does sting.
